Glock 19X: Pew pew pew

Cortuesy of  Kaliber.pl, Polish distributor of Glock firearms, today we had a chance to play with the latest Glock family member, the Glock 19X.

Glock 19X is a “crossover” pistol combining the best features of Gen 5 Glocks. It has Glock 17 full-size grip and Glock 19 compact slide and barrel. This makes it more comfortable to use by shooters with large (or normal) sized palms, without magazines with extended floorplates.

The Glock 19X was born because of US Armed Forces Modular Handgun System. Glock was the only company to offer a single pistol for both required configurations. Other competitors in MHS program submitted the Full-size and Compact pistols. Since the MHS award went to SIG Sauer, Glock decided to ditch the external safety and offer their product to the commercial market. During the SHOT Show 2018 was shown, as a MHS offspring. Basically, it’s a mix of Glock 17 & 19 Gen 5 pistols with all the features like nDLC (Diamon Like Coating) polygonal Glock Marksman Barrels.  The 19X comes in the awesome Coyote color with the first-ever factory colored slide, finished with a nPVD slide coating to prevent corrosion. Additional features are tritium iron sights, ambidextrous slide release levers and the loop for a lanyard.

Glock 19X comes with polymer box (in the very same color as pistol itself) with 3 magazines: two 17+2 round magazines with extended floor plates and one standard 17 round magazine. There were some rumors that Gen 5 will not fit the G19X, but we have checked today and found no problems. Stay tuned for more!
