Persistent Systems to Showcase Advanced Networking Solutions for Border Security at DSEI 2025

Persistent Systems, LLC (“Persistent”), a leader in mobile networking solutions, announced today that it will be exhibiting its Infrastructure-based Regional Operation Network (IRON) at the biennial DSEI UK exhibition, taking place September 9–12 in London.

Already deployed across multiple NATO nations, IRON delivers border security solutions that cover both land and sea, providing maritime domain awareness and strengthening Europe’s defenses against rising threats.

Persistent’s IRON solution directly supports NATO countries by:

  • Blanketing national borders with Wave Relay® MANET coverage, ensuring connectivity from inland checkpoints to maritime patrols.
  • Providing real-time situational awareness and geolocation during the 2024 Olympic Games in France, to ensure safety and coordination.
  • Deploying the Infrastructure-based Regional Operation Network (IRON) in a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) country for real-time surveillance and interdiction of illicit activities.
  • Enhancing security along European waterways by integrating sensors, unmanned systems, counter-UAS, and radars into one unified network, enabling real-time situational awareness.

“IRON isn’t just about securing one nation’s borders.

It is about enabling NATO partners to interoperate on a common wireless communication fabric. When an attack on one ally is an attack on all, NATO forces must be able to operate seamlessly across land, air, and sea within any member nation’s borders.”

Eve Shapiro, Persistent’s Director of International Business Development

Persistent’s IRON solution is widely used for border security efforts across multiple NATO countries. By employing a combination of tower-mounted Integrated Sector Antennas in L-, S-, or C-band, IRON delivers resilient network connectivity across vast geographic areas, supporting both land and maritime border security operations.

DSEI 2025 will also mark the international debut of Persistent’s Personal Transport 5 (PT5) device. The PT5 equips dismounted warfighters with 5G and Wi-Fi capabilities to access Cloud Relay® and connect devices to the MPU5 without cables, enabling greater mobility and efficiency in border security operations.

Beyond its own booth, the Wave Relay® MANET will be featured across a wide range of systems at Wave Relay® Ecosystem and reseller partner booths, demonstrating its versatility and integration with leading defense technologies:

  • Ecosystem Partners: AeroVironment (S4-235), Boston Dynamics (S3-212), Hoodtech (S4-330), Lockheed Martin (S10-110), Shield AI (S5-306).
  • International Resellers: AEC Skyline (N11-210), Cistech Solutions (S2-110), Hytec (N7-260), Scytalys (N2-320), Steatite (N7-134).

Persistent Systems encourages delegations from NATO countries to visit Booth S5-415 at DSEI 2025. These discussions will focus on how Wave Relay® MANET can support national defense strategies and ensure that NATO allies remain interoperable and prepared to operate seamlessly together in defense of shared borders.
