The European defence procurement agency OCCAR has commissioned the consortium formed by HENSOLDT Optronics GmbH and Theon Sensors S.A. to supply an additional 100,000 night vision goggles to the German Armed Forces and 4,000 to the Belgian Armed Forces.

“Night vision capability is essential in times of growing uncertainty – by equipping our soldiers with Mikron night vision goggles, we are giving them information superiority even at night.”
Michael Holzmann, Managing Director of HENSOLDT THEON NightVision GmbH
The scope of delivery for the Mikron night vision goggles also includes an In-Service Support (ISS) agreement. This is intended to strengthen the night vision and operational capabilities of both armed forces in the long term.
“Night vision equipment should not be considered special equipment. We are pleased that it is increasingly being recognised as basic equipment by the German Armed Forces. I am delighted to continue our successful collaboration with Theon and that this contract will enable us to create further jobs in Wetzlar.”
Christina Canitz, Head of Division Optronics at HENSOLDT
