Irish National Police selects Saab’s SAFE Command & Control Solution

Saab has signed a contract with the Irish Police Service, An Garda Síochána, to provide them with the SAFE unified command, control and communications platform. This will be the first deployment of SAFE to a national police force.

Saab and An Garda Síochána will commence the delivery in December 2020 with the solution expected to go live within two years, followed by a support l contract of 5 years, with option to extend to 10 years. The solution will be live across 4 control rooms in the Republic of Ireland and the Garda’s 14,000+ officers will access SAFE remotely.

We are happy to welcome An Garda Síochána as the first national police force into the growing SAFE family. We look forward to working with the Garda as they transition to our innovative command & control platform.

Peter Engberg, Head of Traffic Management at Saab

SAFE will increase police force efficiency through multi-channel public contact, intelligent resource management and officer dispatch. Officers in the field can access and update incident details as well as capture and share information via their SAFE web and mobile apps.

SAFE has been developed in partnership with the emergency services and is operational in the control rooms of over 30 organisations across the UK, Europe and the USA.
