Denmark Expands Contract with Colt Canada for C8 MRR Carbines

Colt CZ Group announced in 2025 that its subsidiary, Colt Canada, signed a major contract with the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) to supply 26,000 C8 MRR (Modular Rail Rifle) carbines.

The Danish Ministry of Defence has now exercised the contract option to expand the total program to more than 50,000 rifles for the Danish Armed Forces and Home Guard units. Deliveries under the program are already underway following the summer 2025 contract award.

“Colt Canada has been supplying the Danish Armed Forces with reliable and battle-proven weapon systems for over 30 years. The contract itself, as well as the current expansion, demonstrates our longstanding partnership. I am proud that Colt Canada can contribute to the safety and security of Denmark’s soldiers at home and abroad.”

Sean Congdon, President and CEO of Colt Canada

Production of the C8 MRR carbines continues at Colt Canada’s manufacturing facility in Ontario, Canada, supporting NATO-allied capability and domestic small arms expertise.

The C8 Modular Rail Rifle represents the latest evolution of Colt Canada’s small arms family, combining modularity, precision, and durability to meet the operational requirements of today’s armed forces. Through the contract and its expansion, Colt Canada reaffirms its role as a trusted NATO partner and continues its mission to deliver world-class solutions that enhance the security and effectiveness of allied forces. Colt Canada supplies this enhanced design rifle to several other Western European military customers based on their demand.
