Bundeswehr Awards Initial Delivery Order for Heckler & Koch G95A1 & KA1 Assault Rifles

Heckler & Koch GmbH has received the official contract from the Federal Republic of Germany for the initial delivery of the new standard assault rifle for the German Armed Forces.

The rifle is based on the proven HK416 A8 platform and will be designated as the G95A1 & KA1 within the service.

This initial batch order commences the fielding of a new generation of infantry small arms for the German Armed Forces. The procurement process began in 2017 with a Europe-wide tender and was legally finalized in 2023. This current order marks the operational commencement of series production deliveries.

With the G95A1 & KA1, Heckler & Koch is delivering a modular assault rifle incorporating the latest state-of-the-art technology – optimized for the requirements of German soldiers in operational deployments and training.
